This lovely Victorian maisonette in the heart of Blackheath, provided a London base for a busy City client, who wished to re-instill a warm, elegant and tranquil feel to this unloved new home. Being a basement apartment, some key issues faced were a lack of light, storage and zoning to utilise the open plan living area to its full potential.
All elements of the new design were cohesive, introducing additional light and a sense of airiness, while establishing a harmonious flow throughout the property and into the garden. The kitchen and wardrobes were completely renovated, using existing carcasses to minimise expenditure, breathing new life and providing much needed storage.
A delicate and soothing colour palette of lighter neutral tones were complemented with sophisticated hues of colour and soft textures. The finished design, transformed this period maisonette, into a classic, elegant and stylish home, a quiet sanctuary and place to ‘escape’ to from the busy rigors of City life.
