This Victorian vicarage had been a little too modernised over the years, with some of its original charms being lost along the way. We will be restoring it to its former glory with modern updates to suit the young family who are now its custodians. For the snug, we created a grownup evening space, with new log burner and marble fireplace, plus wall panelling and aged-oak floors to highlight its traditional features. We balanced these with sumptuous velvets and soft cottons (with the sofa in an unexpected plum colour), and a fun bar area for after-dinner cocktail mixing. The second room, the home office, had none of the original shutters that the snug still had, so we also commissioned replacements. We sourced an extended dining table as the central feature of the room, for extra working space, with a relaxing corner for downtime reading and research. Both rooms also had new cast iron radiators installed, again replacing original features that have been removed over the years.
