We were asked to “tweak” the interior of this mock Georgian new build designed by Christopher Gregory of Danks Badnell.
The front door could not be repositioned so we incorporated a double-entry hallway. The original design for the staircase was a standard square frame which we changed to a sweeping curved staircase. We then curved the walls and added a handmade balustrade with oak handrail. A spectacular bespoke chandelier highlighted the centre.
We increased the height and width of the doorways to allow more light in. The bespoke feature doors between the hallway and garden room were made with a metallic finish. To bring the Georgian feel back to this house, wall panelling, skirtings, architraves and coving detail were introduced throughout the ground floor. The kitchen was handmade and painted to reflect the wood panelling.
Each of the bathrooms were individually designed for their occupants, linked by contemporary details.
