This lower-ground apartment in Belsize Park was home to a young Australian family juggling careers and three small children—who needed their space to work harder for daily life. The original layout felt chaotic, with awkward circulation, constant clutter, and no dedicated space for laundry or storage.
We reworked the floorplan to add much-needed function and flow. One of the three bathrooms was repurposed into a bespoke utility room, while a spiral staircase cutting through the living room was removed and re-engineered into a safer, smarter design that met building regs.
From Moroccan encaustic tiles and microcement in the ensuite to a bespoke industrial-style bookcase that forms part of the structural steelwork, every detail was considered. Clever joinery and cost-conscious material choices elevated the scheme without compromise.
The result is a serene, beautifully organised family home—calm, functional, and full of texture and soul.
