This scheme is for a generous sized living room in a typical Edwardian terrace house. The Design Concept was a contemporary look, not too modern and in keeping with the house , pared down, but not too sparse and a feeling of luxury with display storage for a significant book collection.
We kept the furniture and colours neutral with a colour palette of taupe, warm cream and shades of grey and warm walnut wood accents. We selected 2no. generous 3 seater sofas in cream and placed them facing each other on either side of the fireplace. New pieces of furniture are introduced into the room in a warm walnut veneer. The original fireplace remains and we suggested a simple but dramatic large mirror to reflect light around the room.
Re-framing the collection of prints in matching frames and displaying them in a grid format on one wall helps to give a sense of order and symmetry.Instructions as to how to hang a wall with multiple pictures are included in the DesignBox
