Famrhouse in the City - Conservatory
The four-season conservatory was a truly unique space. We envisioned it as a multifunctional room—a place to relax, entertain, recharge, or simply escape. However, we also needed to ensure privacy in what felt like a fishbowl! To achieve this, we installed natural pinoleum blinds and strategically placed screens & plants to create seclusion without obstructing the sense of a view beyond.
The braided rug paid tribute to the one from my grandmother's home during my childhood, while the handmade sofa was rescued and upcycled with a striped slipcover made from sun-resistant performance fabric by Perennials. Everything else in the room was sourced from vintage finds, including the rocking chair, which featured on the cover of Louis Armstrong for his "Greatest Hits" album!
