Cool, calm and collected, this open plan space is filled with soft tones and reflective surfaces creating a light yet soothing kitchen, dining and living area within this Cambridge eco home. Whilst the top-notch green credentials of the property matched the clients' energy efficient ethos, the interior was overly dark, heavy on dull finishes and with a layout that lacked functionality and flow. The simple removal of two studwork nibs between the original kitchen/diner and lounge area dramatically transformed the room into an unrestricted and expansive space. The layout was rebalanced, the disjointed lounge now a more intimate and sociable seating area, freeing up space for the dining table to overlook the beautiful garden. The owners' love of the outdoors and desire for a minimal and natural aesthetic is reflected in the fresh sage and olive green hues of the decorative scheme, carrying through from the kitchen cabinetry to the dappled watercolour-like feature wallpaper.
