Kingston Basement Kitchen

This full basement extension was transformative for a long-standing family home in Kingston, creating generous space for cooking, dining, and daily life. The clients—a creative couple with children—wanted a warm, characterful interior that reflected their personality, not just another identikit renovation.

We designed a large open-plan kitchen, dining and family space, along with a new cloakroom, while preserving the original ground-floor kitchen as a dedicated workspace for the client’s bespoke cake business.

Bold colour, vintage finds, and honest materials brought soul to the scheme—from the antique sideboard to the long timber dining table that now anchors the space. The result is a vibrant, lived-in interior that feels original to the house, and perfectly in tune with the family who call it home.
