This scheme was for a typical 1960s built modern home. The living and dining had been knocked into one through open space. The design concept was to be true to the house's roots and create the interior with a mid century Danish modern feel, to be cool and contemporary.
We wanted to make a feature of the lovely wooden parquet floor and connected the two spaces visually by two matching rugs which added warmth and texture to the room
We kept the colour palette tight using greys and natural woods and added sharp accents of colour and pattern in crisp yellow and orange. We applied natural grass cloth wallpaper to 2 walls , the others were to be painted in a warm cream emulsion. Woodwork was painted in an eggshell finish in a matching cream to the wall colour
The window treatments were natural linen fabric, unlined to give an easy unstructured look. A comfy classic shape sofa in the sitting area was contrasted with a lovely string classic chair accessorised with retro print cushions.
