In this Grade II listed villa, the four-storey layout was completely redesigned to include a glass-structured side extension and various alterations to levels and room types.
In order to balance and soften the crisp modern lines we introduced soft shapes and curves on the ground floor and used warm, punchy accent colours of old golds and rich spices against the neutral backdrop.
Sophisticated lighting with warm woods, luscious fabrics and sculptural pieces were all layered on top. Bespoke storage was designed throughout, which included the transformation of the space beneath the walnut, slate and steel staircase where we created a bespoke wine store.
The warm woods were carried through to the decked terrace, providing a visual link to the materials and planting inside. Here, bold clay pots filled with architectural planting, bamboo and olive trees provide a relaxing, private oasis. Back-lit copper panels give an interesting focal point, particularly in the evenings.
