We were appointed on this project being undertaken by a family with young children who loved the quirks and charm of the Arts & Crafts property and wanted to bring it back to life. The house was in a state of disrepair and desperately in need of some loving care but the brief was very clearly to create a light, modern family home while honouring the heritage of the building itself.
The clients loved colour and pattern and were bold about bringing it together in the fabrics, wallpapers and rugs in this project. Although the Arts & Crafts details were brought out in the panelling, herringbone parquet floor and vintage Bakelite handles, the clients wanted an eclectic and relaxed family feel bringing in a love of Morrocan style patterns, vibrant greens and Mid-century style furniture and the resulting design really reflected their collective creative personality.
