This Grade II listed apartment was formerly part of a derelict Victorian terrace, previously on Westminster's endangered buildings list. A forensic restoration brought it back to its original grandeur — a generous 1,700 sq ft lateral three-bedroom home, full of character and elegance.

The brief: a soothing, modern take on Britain's long love affair with the East. Moving away from the typically dark colonial palette, a tailored foundation of clean lines took the lead, layered with sumptuous textiles, heron prints, tropical marquetry and grasscloth. A custom emerald velvet sofa anchors the room — composed well before the trend caught up.

The kitchen features polished nickel cabinetry with glass fronts and interior lighting. A bespoke lacquered cabinet with gilded palm frond, designed by Studio L, nods to Indochine style. The goal: an unexpected cross-cultural dialogue where every piece tells a story.
