The original brief was the conversion of a basement previously used as a children’s playroom into a fun entertainment room for teenagers and adults to enjoy.
The basement has two structural columns and a lower ceiling area. The main objective during the planning process was to make them look like they were meant to be there. To achieve this we increased the size of the columns to make them fit within the design and made them into a feature rather than an obstacle.
There were a large number of big items required to be incorporated into the scheme, including a ping pong table that we cleverly concealed behind a closed bespoke cabinet.
This was not only a fun project to work on but also one that ran really smoothly as we very much worked in unison with the client. Following its completion, the client has commissioned us to work on other parts of the house.
