Thatch House has been thoughtfully designed to sit comfortably within its surroundings, respecting the historic charm of Sherrington Village while creating a contemporary, low-energy family home.
Our design process began with a deep understanding of how the clients wanted to live, balancing a strong connection to nature with the warmth and character of mid-century modern influences. This inspired a refined interior and lighting design proposal that celebrates natural materials, soft tones and crafted details. Carefully layered lighting brings each space to life, highlighting textures and creating atmosphere from day to night.
The home is formed of two distinct volumes – one for living and one for resting – linked by a central entrance corridor. This arrangement naturally creates sheltered courtyards, offering quiet moments outdoors and allowing daylight to flow deep into the home. The result is a calm, light-filled environment that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
