Country house near Cirencester in traditional cotswold stone with a modern extension. The clients wanted something refined and classic without being too traditionally ‘country’, they had a beloved collection of ceramics and paintings which needed to be housed and were keen to keep the house practical for a large family and guests. We followed a calm palette that flows from room to room with stone or wooden floors and antique pieces of furniture to compliment the older sections of the house with more modern pieces in the extension. The decor and furnishings give way to the beautiful views across the valley which are one of the most sticking features of the house - we aimed to compliment those without competing with them, hence the calm subdued pallet which gives a lovely serenity to the house whilst also being constantly interesting.
