Cotswolds Art Studio

Our brief was to design a multifunctional Art Studio / Summerhouse that all of our client’s family could enjoy. We removed the low ceiling of the old workshop to reveal the pitched roof and increased the natural light by installing skylights, large windows and double doors to the front elevation and an additional window to the rear to ensure there was enough light for painting.

The floorboards were painted in a grey tone which will gradually take on a ‘lived in’ appearance adding to the relaxed design style of the space. The studio kitchen / storage area includes stainless steel back panel and a strong colour pop of blue and yellow. We created a lounge area with a log burner at one end of the space. Utilising the height of the pitched ceiling, we designed shelving for our client to display artworks and objects.
