This 100 year old apartment near the sea in Edinburgh needed extensive renovation and rethinking of the space to suit modern living, while respecting its period features.
The kitchen was moved to a more suitable location and redesigned completely in a classic New England style with glazed upper cabinets to showcase white china and glassware.
A fireplace which had been completely bricked up was reinstated to provide a focal point for the living space and as luck would have it, it was still in complete working order.
Blinds and simple curtains were chosen to keep the scheme light and uncluttered. Furniture is a mixture of clean, modern lines and mid-century influences along with vintage and Scandinavian inspired pieces.
Mixing styles like this is a great way to make a space feel both personal and unique.
