The project is about a family room in an old cottage where a family of 5 lives. Today the space is a conservatory and gets warm in summer and cold in winter. Because of the works that will be done in the house, the conservatory will become an more integrated part of the house.
The clients required that the space would open on the garden. They also wanted some separation between the existing living room and the new ‘conservatory’, that you can open or close depending on the needs. The existing living room had to remain a cosy area where the family could sit around the fire.
The new ‘conservatory’ will be also used as a place to store children’s toys, to relax and read and to entertain large groups of people.
I believed that in order to get the most out of this house we had to
open up the space, creating one large light and airy space with the same style all over. The chosen styles are Minimal Country and Scandinavian.
