Kolamba is a Sri Lankan restaurant in the Carnaby area of Soho, London, with a menu of big bold flavours from a small island. The interior design is a reflection of the menu and a nod to the tropical modernism movement of famed Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa.
A bespoke terrazzo was created and used throughout the space in varying scales - small over the tables and kitchen counter, and large over the basement cocktail bar. Other details included walls swathed in polished concrete, linen piped leather banquettes, twisted rough-sawn wood screens and natural fabric pendants to add a softness and diffuse light within the space.
