Artwork-Led Redesign & Lighting Scheme
This large front reception room was once a chaotic blend of music room, toy storage and an awkwardly placed dining table—practical but far from inviting. The layout didn’t work, and the space felt casual and irritating to use. The family wanted to elevate the room’s feel without losing its warmth or day-to-day function.
We began by completely rethinking the flow: relocating the piano created drama and balance, allowing the dining area to take centre stage. A stunning commissioned abstract artwork became the focal point, its joyful colour palette informing the rest of the design.
We sourced a bespoke hand-blown glass chandelier—each piece colour-matched to the artwork—and designed a custom silk-and-wool rug to anchor the scheme. The existing table stayed, but was paired with elegant, comfortable chairs stained to match, giving it new purpose.
Now, the room feels joyful, elegant, and designed with intention—a true heart of the home.
