This substantial eighties house was once a family home but the owners wanted to transition it into a free-flowing space for entertaining. The original kitchen was under-sized in comparison to the remainder of the house so we made it bigger by knocking-through into the existing utility room and then made use of a disused passageway to create a new utility area. We separated the kitchen from the utility room with a secret door, hidden in a bank of cupboards, from the kitchen to the dining room there are bespoke sliding pocket doors and in the dining room we installed new Georgian-style french doors. In the living room, we designed and installed panelling to accentuate the room’s proportions and to hide a 7.1 AV surround-sound system. Central to the living room is the new limestone fire surround and gas fire in a traditional style. All rooms feature a sophisticated palette of greys and navy blues with luxurious leathers, velvets and linens, to create a sumptuous entertaining space.
