About Pia Pelkonen
Everything that Pia Design does has the future of our home planet at its heart, and Pia and her team actively champion more sustainable ways to remodel. They reuse, repurpose and refurbish before replacing; working with the belief that longevity is the best form of sustainability and that by taking inspiration from nature, they are able to create spaces that improve with age - interiors with a green soul.
A love of nature is at the heart of our designs and our philosophy is that the best form of sustainability is a carefully considered scheme and the use of quality materials - natural materials have a timeless quality about them that surpasses trends whilst also standing the test of time - some materials even grow more beautiful with age. We approach our projects with sustainability in mind - we select our suppliers carefully to ensure their green values are aligned with our own, working with many local manufacturers and artisan makers and always on the lookout for new ethical and sustainable brands. We also prefer to refurbish existing furniture pieces or sourcing vintage items whenever possible. Central to our design philosophy is listening and interpreting the brief to create organically evolving, authentic interiors. Our practical approach to design is focused on supporting projects from start to completion with honest industry advice and common-sense solutions.
