Brief:
To improve the flow and function of the home to better suit the changing needs of the family as their children enter their teenage years. Modernise the interior design with a ‘transitional’ style where period pieces sit comfortably alongside modern.
Concept:
The ‘stormy ocean’ palette was inspired by my client’s favourite artwork which was injected throughout the home for a harmonious, cohesive and personal feel.
Solution:
We re-jigged the spaces by reconfiguring existing floorplans and adding a small extension to the 2nd floor. Bespoke joinery was designed and installed throughout to improve storage. The unused ‘middle room’ became a snug for the teenage girls with the front room becoming an adult sitting area, divided by bespoke bi-fold doors which allow the space to become one large room when needed. The colour palette was kept neutral and fresh, whilst accents of blues and pinks were injected into the scheme, reminiscent of the artwork.
